The name “Bullona” originates from the farmstead that once stood in the area designated later for the station. This station was designed to serve the growing Fiera Campionaria and the Portello industrial area. Together with the Porta Genova Station, it represents a valuable example of early 20th century railway architecture. The building has a style somewhere between Art Nouveau and Rationalism, with a facade decorated in late Art Nouveau style.
